THE PANTRY, HAZLEMERE

Although I've dropped into The Pantry a few times of the last six months I've neglected to pick up my camera and shoot some of the best coffee & aesthetics Buckinghamshire has to offer, but as you can see this was a huge mistake on my part.

The coffee is without a doubt as good as anything you'll enjoy at even the most well respected café and speaking with the owner Charles the next few months at the Pantry present some excited prospects, with renovations and a new espresso machine that in Charles words will mean "We're serving some of the best coffee in the UK."

Hannah and I were also fortunate to bump into Auntie Val as she finished her morning shop and she joined us for coffee and a chat. I was very thankful for the quiet ambiance of the Pantry on a Saturday morning and definitely plan to make more frequent visits.

Also, the light was mind blowing. Overcast skies and summer sunshine make for a universal soft box.

SEASONS WINE TASTING EVENING

Having never been to a wine tasting evening Hannah and I were a little pensive about what to expect from our evening at Seasons, thankfully we were greeted with a warm friendly atmosphere and plenty of experienced wine drinkers to help us along the way.

The evening began with the history of Gerard Bertrand Wines and details of the wines we would be tasting, starting with a rosé, moving onto white & finishing the evening with red, we also had some insight into how the wine is produced and the differing methods ranging from Organic to Bio-diverse, from hand picked and aged in oak barrels, to picked by machine and produced in vats as high as houses.

It was very enlightening and as we sat sipping on each glass enjoying the quiet conversation  I really began to appreciate what goes into these wines and I'm happy to say by the end of the evening I was beginning to distinguish flavours and judge if the wine had been oak aged.

I would highly recommend any of the wines we tasted that evening but my personal favourite was the Vieille Capitelle Sauvignon Blanc and knowing that Seasons stock it means I can get a bottle whenever I fancy!

SPRING II

A year ago today I posted by first blog here. As a little blog birthday I've put together another post about the joys of Spring as I've witnessed the longest winter leave our little garden and a splash of colour enter back into our lives.

I've really enjoyed my first year on Blogger and love the freedom it gives me. Some of my favourites include:

Monmouth Coffee
New York: Part I Part II Part III
Eggs Benedict
Whippet Grey
